Cytomegalovirus (CMV) Antiviral Services

In vitro assays

CMV antiviral assays are performed in cell lines with laboratory adapted and clinical isolates. Replication and infectivity assays are monitored with a variety of readouts, including ELISA based assays, fluorescence probes, inhibition of virus-induced cytopathic effect (plaque reduction assay), and viral gene expression.

CMV animal model

We also offer evaluation of anti-CMV activity using a CMV model of infection in which mice are challenged with murine cytomegalovirus (MCMV). Data are provided as viral load in mouse organs or LD50 values. Prior studies are performed to evaluate in vitro anti-MCMV activity in different cell lines.
